Phelan Green Energy Celebrates 10 Years Of Solar Leadership And Expands Green Hydrogen Projects

August 2024 marked a significant milestone for Phelan Green Energy as the company celebrated a decade of success in the renewable energy sector. Solar Capital (Pty) Ltd, Phelanโ€™s South African solar subsidiary, proudly commemorated the 10th anniversary of its first solar plant, Solar Capital De Aar 1. The 86MW solar project, which went live in August 2014, along with the 90MW De Aar 3 project completed in 2015, represented the largest solar project in the Southern Hemisphere at the time, with a combined capacity of 175MW.

In addition to its solar achievements, Phelan Green Energy is making significant strides in its flagship green hydrogen projects. These ventures are progressing in Saldanha, Western Cape, South Africa, and Arequipa, Peru, signaling the companyโ€™s commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

As part of its ongoing expansion, Phelan has welcomed numerous new team members across its global operations. This growth is driven by the rapid development of its green hydrogen projects and the companyโ€™s continued evolution in the renewable energy space.
