The highly anticipated Solar Week Zambia 2024: Conference & Awards, organized by SolarQuarter, kicked off on October 10th, 2024, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. This prestigious event gathered industry leaders, innovators, and government representatives to explore the future of solar energy and its transformative potential for Zambia.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Michael M Mulasikwanda, Assistant Director of Electrification & Power Development at the Ministry of Energy, emphasized the critical role that solar energy plays in Zambia’s electrification and economic growth. “The Solar Week Zambia 2024 provides a unique opportunity to accelerate our countryโs solar energy initiatives, foster investments, and create sustainable energy solutions that will power Zambiaโs future,” said Mr. Mulasikwanda. He also highlighted the governmentโs commitment to advancing solar infrastructure and expanding energy access to rural communities, laying the groundwork for long-term development.

The event featured key discussions on Zambia’s solar market growth, the latest advancements in solar technologies, and policy frameworks that will drive renewable energy adoption across the nation. Attendees engaged in thought-provoking conversations on unlocking investment opportunities, while exploring the best practices for accelerating Zambiaโs energy transition.
