Masdar Partners with Presight to Develop AI-Driven Asset Management Tool for Renewable Energy Projects

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC, known as Masdar, has signed an agreement with Presight, a prominent big data analytics firm leveraging generative artificial intelligence (AI), to create an asset management tool tailored for its global renewable energy projects. This collaboration aims to enhance Masdar’s operational efficiency through advanced data analysis capabilities.

Masdar’s renewable energy projects generate billions of data points daily from various equipment, including solar panels, inverters, and wind turbines. The vast amount of data produced can be meticulously analyzed to derive valuable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making.

With the new AI-based asset management tool, Masdar aims to transition from a reactive operational model to a predictive one. By analyzing data and operational patterns, the company seeks to anticipate potential issues, enhance efficiency, prevent failures before they occur, minimize downtime, and ultimately increase energy production.

As a leader in innovation within the renewable energy sector, Masdar is now integrating AI technology into its operations to further optimize energy supply. AI is expected to play a significant role in boosting operational efficiency and applying predictive analytics to enhance energy grids and resilience, thereby facilitating the seamless integration of renewable energy sources.

Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Masdar’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to using cutting-edge clean energy technologies. “It was a natural progression for Masdar to explore the potential for deploying AI across energy systems to enhance efficiency and deliver data-driven decision-making. The integration between AI and energy represents a game-changing economic opportunity that will enable us to build a bridge to a low-carbon, high-growth future,” he stated.

Since its inception in 2006, Masdar has been instrumental in the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in sustainability and climate action. The company has developed and partnered on projects in over 40 countries and is focused on increasing its renewable energy portfolio capacity to 100 GW by 2030, along with becoming a leading producer of green hydrogen within the same timeframe.
