JSW Renew Energy Eleven Limited, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a significant solar project. The agreement covers the supply of 700 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity awarded under SECI Tranche XIII, with a tariff set at โน2.56 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for a duration of 25 years.
The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months, marking a key milestone in JSW Energy’s renewable energy expansion strategy. The company aims to achieve a total operational capacity of 10 gigawatts (GW) by fiscal year 2025, building on its current operational capacity of 7.9 GW, which includes thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources.
In addition to its generation capacity, JSW Energy boasts 16.2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of locked-in energy storage capacity, facilitated by a battery energy storage system and a hydro pumped storage project. The company has set ambitious goals to reach 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030.
Furthermore, JSW Energy has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, reflecting its dedication to sustainability and the transition to cleaner energy sources.
