RWE is expanding its solar operations in Poland. After commissioning its first solar farm from a pipeline exceeding 100 MWac in June, the company has begun construction on another utility-scale project. The Borek solar project, located in Deszczno (Lubuskie voivodeship) in Midwestern Poland, will feature around 40,000 ground-mounted photovoltaic panels. This project includes three solar farms with capacities of 10 MWac, 10 MWac, and 4 MWac, totaling 24 MWac. Once operational, these solar farms will provide green electricity to approximately 10,500 Polish households each year.
Katja Wรผnschel, CEO RWE Renewables Europe & Australia: โSolar power plays an increasing key role in the Polish energy transition. Borek solar project is the next milestone in our journey to leverage Polandโs sunny conditions with great sites for solar energy. As a major player in the Polish renewables market for more than 15 years, RWE is keen to further develop, construct and operate solar and wind farms in Poland.โ
