The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan to advance renewable energy projects in the state by 2030. The agreement was formalized during the Rising Rajasthan Investor Meet in Jaipur.

The signing ceremony was graced by Rajasthanโ€™s Honโ€™ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, Minister Shri Heeralal Nagar, and Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department, Shri Alok. SECI was represented by its Chairman and Managing Director Shri RP Gupta, Director (Power Systems) Shri Sivakumar V Vepakomma, and General Manager (Corporate Planning and Business Development) Shri Ajay Kumar Sinha.

This strategic partnership outlines a six-year plan to transform Rajasthan into a power surplus state, ensuring a 24/7 supply of clean, affordable, and reliable energy. The investments will focus on renewable energy generation, manufacturing of renewable energy equipment, and innovative solutions such as solar, wind, hybrid projects, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

By leveraging Rajasthanโ€™s vast solar potential, the initiative aligns with Indiaโ€™s ambitious goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. SECI, which already has a significant presence in the state, views this collaboration as a step towards cementing Indiaโ€™s leadership in the global clean energy sector.

This MoU underscores SECIโ€™s commitment to accelerating the nationโ€™s transition to a carbon-neutral economy while bolstering Rajasthanโ€™s energy infrastructure.
