Teerth Gopicon and Reliance Industries have emerged as winners of a tender issued by SJVN to develop 5,830 kW of grid-connected solar projects under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Of the total capacity, Teerth Gopicon secured 5,705 kW, while Reliance Industries was awarded 125 kW.
The tender, announced in 2024, focuses on installing solar systems on union government buildings across states such as Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. Both companies will operate under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model, where energy is supplied without upfront costs to the beneficiaries.
As part of this initiative, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has appointed SJVN as one of the implementation partners to oversee the deployment of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on government properties. This program aims to enhance the adoption of renewable energy while contributing to the nationโs clean energy goals.
