Kinergy Advancement Berhad Confirms Sector Reclassification under Bursa Malaysia’s New Energy Sub-Sector

Sustainable energy solutions specialist Kinergy Advancement Berhad (“KAB” or “Group”) Group announced its successful reclassification under Bursa Malaysia’s newly introduced Renewable Energy Sub-sector within the Energy and Utilities sector. This reclassification, effective 13 January 2025, was highlighted during the Renewable Energy Sub-sector Launch Event held today at Bursa Malaysia, following the Bursa Announcement on 8 January 2025 (KAB – Reclassification of Sector).

This marks another milestone for Kinergy Advancement, following the prestigious recognition in TIME’s The Intelligent Investor: Special Focus on Malaysia published on 30 December 2024. This acknowledgement reaffirms KAB’s position as a leader in the energy industry celebrated for driving true innovation, fostering strategic growth, and consistently delivering transformative value.

Dato Lai Keng Onn, KAB’s Executive Deputy Chairman and Group Managing Director, stated that the reclassification validates the company’s strategic vision. He emphasized KAB’s commitment to sustainable solutions and its successful expansion strategy, which has transformed the company. He also highlighted the milestone as a reflection of six years of progress and dedication to driving innovation in the energy sector.

Mr. Leong See Meng, Director of Origination & Listing at Bursa Malaysia, highlighted that the reclassification under the Renewable Energy Sub-sector emphasizes Malaysia’s renewable energy potential. He noted that private sector innovation will be key to achieving the nation’s goal of 70% renewable energy capacity by 2050. He also expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their support and dedication in making the progress possible.
