ITI Limited Invites Bids For 10 MW Solar Power Plant At Naini Facility

ITI Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Department of Telecommunication, has released a Request for Proposal (RfP) dated January 16, 2025, inviting bids for the development of a 10 MW ground-mounted, grid-connected solar power plant at its Naini facility in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The project scope includes constructing the solar plant and identifying purchasers for the generated power under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

The RfP outlines essential details such as the cost of the proposal document, which is ₹10,000, payable via Demand Draft (DD) or RTGS/NEFT. Prospective bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10 lakh, valid for 120 days. Additionally, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) of ₹1 crore, valid for 24 months, within the timeframe specified in the Letter of Intent (LOI). Failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of the EMD.

Key dates in the tendering process include January 23, 2025, as the last date for submitting clarification requests, February 7, 2025, for submitting bids, and February 8, 2025, for the opening of technical bids. The financial bid opening date will be communicated to bidders who qualify technically.

The initiative marks ITI Limited’s foray into renewable energy. The selected developer will not only build the solar facility but also ensure its operation and maintenance for the project’s 25-year duration. The developer is expected to oversee the entire process, from land preparation to ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. ITI will provide approximately 30 acres of land on a right-to-use basis and ensure connectivity for power evacuation.
