ADNEC Group, a Modon Company and global leader in managing strategic assets and events, has announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Positive Zero, the Middle Eastโs leading provider of decarbonization and energy transition solutions. The agreement, signed during the World Future Energy Summit at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, will enable the installation of a 5 Mega-Watt Peak (MWp) Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system on the centre’s roof.
The agreement was signed by Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, and Mohammed Abdulghaffar Hussain, Chairman of Positive Zero, and witnessed by key representatives from both organizations. Managed by Positive Zeroโs Generation arm (SirajPower), the project will span 15 years and cover 21,620 square meters of roof space at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Once operational by year-end, the solar PV system will supply 30% of the centre’s annual electricity needs, reducing carbon emissions by nearly 6,000 metric tonnes annuallyโthe equivalent of powering 1,250 homes for a year.
Aligned with its Sustainability and ESG strategy, ADNEC Group has committed to cutting its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and achieving net zero by 2045. The organization has developed a comprehensive Net Zero Transition Plan that leverages advanced technologies and innovative practices to optimize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
