Avantus, a leading U.S. developer of large-scale solar and solar-plus-storage projects, has appointed Venkatesh Inti as its new Chief Development Officer. In this role, Inti will oversee the companyโs development portfolio, which includes around 30 GW of solar and 94 GWh of energy storage.
With nearly 20 years of experience in renewable energy development and M&A, Inti has contributed to the successful commercialization of 3 GW of renewable projects. He previously served as Vice President of Development, West Region at RWE Clean Energy, managing project development, real estate, permitting, and business expansion.
Cliff Graham, Chief Executive Officer of Avantus, โVenkateshโs expertise in clean energy development and proven ability to deliver large-scale projects will be essential as Avantus executes on its growth strategy. The U.S. is entering a new era of energy expansion, with surging demand for affordable, reliable clean powerโparticularly in our core markets of California and the Desert Southwest. Venkateshโs leadership will help us meet this moment and accelerate the deployment of gigawatts of solar and energy storage.โ
Inti said in a statement, โI’m excited to join Avantus, a team with strong leadership and an impressive track record in clean energy development. With committed investors and strategic queue positions, Avantus is positioned to bring new generation capacity online quickly to meet growing demand across the West. Iโm eager to get to work and help drive this ambitious portfolio forward.โ
Before that, he led M&A efforts at Qcells USA and held key roles at Strata Clean Energy and EDF Renewables. Inti joins Avantus during a period of significant growth, following the appointment of CEO Cliff Graham, a major equity investment from KKR, and the completion of a new development facility.
