Shell Egypt Partners with EGYPES 2025 to Drive Innovation and Energy Dialogue

Shell Egypt has announced its participation as a partner at the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2025, the largest energy conference and exhibition in Egypt, North Africa, and the Mediterranean. The event will take place from February 17-19, 2025, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi.

Shellโ€™s global leadership, including Ivan Tan, Executive Vice President for Development, Subsurface and Wells, and Suzanne Coogan, Vice President of Heartland Exploration and Namibia, will lead discussions during the three-day conference. The focus will be on upstream growth, capacity building, and diversity and inclusion (D&I). The company will also engage attendees through an interactive booth for its entrepreneurship program, Intilaaqah, while participating in various panel discussions aimed at advancing Egyptโ€™s energy sector.

Dalia Elgabry, Vice President and Country Chair of Shell Egypt, emphasized the companyโ€™s strong commitment to supporting Egyptโ€™s energy ambitions. โ€œEGYPES 2025 provides a critical platform to engage in discussions on the future of energy, reinforce our investment plans, and continue fostering strategic partnerships that accelerate progress,โ€ Elgabry stated. โ€œThrough our participation in high-impact panels, the recognition of talent through the EGYPES Awards, and our engagement with youth through our NXplorers and Intilaaqah programs, we aim to demonstrate our holistic approach to creating long-term value for Egyptโ€™s energy industry.โ€

Key Conversations on Energy Security and Gas

At the EGYPES 2025 Strategic Conference, Shell executives will lead key conversations on energy security, natural gas, and inclusion. Ivan Tan will discuss how natural gas can support energy-hungry nations and industries, while Suzanne Coogan will explore the potential of Africaโ€™s natural gas in driving energy security and expanding export markets. Omneya Abdellatif, Managing Counsel for LNG and Head of Legal at Shell Egypt, will provide insights into LNG market dynamics and contracts in the region. Additionally, Shell Egyptโ€™s HR Manager, Wafaa El Ashry, will advise on oil and gas company branding strategies to attract and retain top energy talent.

Celebrating Innovation Through NXplorers Awards

Shell will also highlight young innovators at the EGYPES 2025 event through the NXplorers Awards Ceremony. The initiative celebrates student-led solutions to energy sustainability challenges and promotes future leadership in the energy sector.

Shell will host an interactive Intilaaqah booth throughout EGYPES 2025, showcasing its long-standing commitment to capacity building and entrepreneurship. The Intilaaqah program has supported thousands of young people across Egypt, contributing to the establishment and scaling of around 200 startups. The booth will offer industry professionals, students, and entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn more about Shellโ€™s initiatives in skill development and business incubation.
