Vikram Solar Limited has expanded its manufacturing capacity by an additional 1 GW at its Falta facility in West Bengal. The company has also upgraded its Oragadam manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, enabling the production of high-efficiency solar modules, including TOPCON and HJT technologies. These developments bring Vikram Solarโs total annual nameplate production capacity to 4.5 GW, strengthening its position in Indiaโs renewable energy sector.
The expansion at the Falta facility began with equipment installation on December 5, 2024, and has now been completed. Additionally, the upgrade at the Oragadam facility, which started on July 19, has enhanced production capabilities, allowing Vikram Solar to manufacture advanced solar modules with improved efficiency.
Chairman and Managing Director Gyanesh Chaudhary stated that the manufacturing expansion in Kolkata and Chennai will help scale production and enhance the companyโs ability to provide sustainable energy solutions. He emphasized that these projects leverage advanced manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency while maintaining international quality and sustainability standards. He also highlighted that the initiative aligns with Indiaโs Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, contributing to the goal of self-reliance in the renewable energy sector.
