L&T Secures Major Power Transmission Orders in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and India

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), India’s leading engineering and construction conglomerate, has announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured power project orders valued between Rs 25 billion and Rs 50 billion ($285 million to $571 million) from key Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Key Projects in the Middle East

L&T confirmed that its PT&D business has won a 380kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) order in Saudi Arabia, which includes associated reactors and hybrid GIS Bays installation.

In Abu Dhabi, UAE, the company has secured a contract to develop a 220/33kV grid station along with associated infrastructure work.

These repeat orders from longstanding clients highlight L&Tโ€™s role in enhancing grid infrastructure and supporting the growth of renewable energy integration across the region.

Expansion in Indiaโ€™s Renewable Energy Sector

Apart from its international wins, L&T’s PT&D vertical has secured domestic contracts to implement 765kV and 400kV transmission lines associated with a Renewable Energy Zone in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, the company also won a contract for the turnkey construction of a 400kV transmission line to evacuate power from a non-fossil fuel-based power plant in southern India.

L&T continues to strengthen its presence in the power transmission sector, contributing to energy security and renewable energy expansion both in India and globally.
