E2SOL Partners With Yotta Energy To Launch Smart Solar Highway Median Infrastructure Featuring Yotta Block Energy Storage

E2SOL and Yotta Energy have joined forces to develop the Smart Solar Highway Median (SSHM) Power Infrastructure System, a groundbreaking initiative that transforms underutilized highway medians into clean energy hubs. This innovative project aims to reduce transportation emissions, expand electric vehicle (EV) charging access, and enhance grid resilience by harnessing renewable energy from highway barriers and rights of way. A key feature of this system is the Yotta Block, an advanced modular energy storage unit designed to make solar energy collection more efficient and installation more straightforward.

As EV adoption rises and states pursue ambitious Net Zero goals by 2050, the SSHM offers a practical solution to power electric transportation while alleviating pressure on the existing power grid. One of the most exciting aspects of SSHM is its support for dynamic wireless EV charging, allowing vehicles to recharge while in motion. The integration of Yotta Block, a compact 1kWh unit, simplifies solar+storage systems by replacing traditional ballast blocks, making installation easier and more cost-effective. Additionally, states can sell surplus power generated by the system back to the grid, creating new revenue streams and offsetting public energy expenses.

This initiative also holds significant benefits for local communities. Areas near highways, which are often burdened with higher energy costs, could gain access to affordable solar power. Moreover, by reducing reliance on overhead power lines, SSHM enhances climate resilience, mitigating the risk of power outages during extreme weather events. Yotta Block, unveiled at Intersolar and Energy Storage North America, is a plug-and-play energy storage solution that integrates directly behind photovoltaic panels. This eliminates the need for separate battery infrastructure, reducing installation complexity, cutting costs, and optimizing space utilization.

Anthony Baro, Managing Principal at E2SOL, said in a statement, “This partnership is about reimagining infrastructure. By combining E2SOL’s Smart Solar Highway Median technology with Yotta Energy’s innovative Yotta Block storage, we’re enabling a future where highways not only move people but also generate, store, and distribute clean energy.”

Ryan Davies, CCO of Yotta Energy, mentioned “Yotta Block revolutionizes solar+storage by making deployment effortless. Yotta’s technology seamlessly integrates with E2SOL’s Smart Solar Highway Medians, creating a decentralized power solution that’s efficient, scalable, and resilient.”

The SSHM initiative aligns with broader state and federal renewable energy programs aimed at expanding EV charging networks and modernizing the power grid. By leveraging existing highway medians, E2SOL and Yotta Energy demonstrate that sustainable infrastructure can be deployed efficiently without requiring additional land acquisition. To bring this vision to life, E2SOL and Yotta Energy are actively collaborating with state agencies, utility providers, and transportation authorities to deploy the Smart Solar Highway Median system across the nation. This ambitious project paves the way for a cleaner, more resilient energy future while revolutionizing the intersection of transportation and renewable energy.
