Belgium and Vietnam Strengthen Cooperation on Renewable Energy and Energy Projects

Belgian King Philippe has expressed keen interest in fostering Belgium’s participation in Vietnamโ€™s renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects. The discussions took place during his official visit to Hanoi, where he met with Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong on Tuesday.

During their talks, King Philippe underscored Belgiumโ€™s commitment to deepening collaboration in Vietnamโ€™s energy sector, particularly in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. He emphasized Belgiumโ€™s expertise in green energy and its willingness to support Vietnamโ€™s transition to cleaner energy sources.

President Cuong welcomed Belgiumโ€™s interest in Vietnamโ€™s energy landscape, highlighting the countryโ€™s focus on renewable energy expansion and energy security. He encouraged Belgian companies to increase investments in green energy, digital transformation, and high-tech infrastructure.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening energy partnerships through diplomatic exchanges and sectoral cooperation. They also discussed mechanisms to enhance investment in sustainable energy projects under the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement.

As part of the visit, the two sides signed cooperation agreements, including commitments related to climate change and sustainable energy initiatives.

King Philippeโ€™s visit, which runs from April 1โ€“5, includes engagements in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where he is set to participate in discussions on energy collaboration and sustainability efforts.
