KLK Ventures has been awarded a significant contract under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. The project involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 500 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) across the state of Assam. These systems will vary in capacity, ranging from 1 HP to 7.5 HP, and are intended to meet the diverse irrigation and water requirements of farmers in different regions of the state.
This project is being implemented under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme, which focuses on promoting standalone solar pumps to reduce farmers’ dependence on grid electricity and diesel-powered systems. The solar pumps will support critical needs such as irrigation, drinking water supply, and community water access, particularly in remote and underserved areas where reliable electricity remains a challenge.
By integrating solar energy into agricultural infrastructure, the initiative represents a meaningful step forward in promoting sustainable farming practices and rural development in Assam. It aims to reduce reliance on conventional power sources, minimize carbon emissions, and provide long-term economic benefits to farming communities. With the increasing emphasis on renewable energy, the project aligns with the governmentโs broader mission to transition rural India towards cleaner, more dependable energy solutions.
Akshat Jain, CEO, KLK Ventures Private Limited, mentioned, โWe are proud to contribute to the PM-KUSUM scheme and provide sustainable energy solutions to farmers in Assam. This project is a major step towards enhancing agricultural efficiency and reducing carbon footprints in the region.โ
Through this deployment, KLK Ventures is contributing to the advancement of green energy while addressing core issues related to water accessibility and energy reliability in rural areas. The initiative not only supports environmental sustainability but also empowers farmers with cost-effective, efficient, and resilient irrigation systems.
