In a strategic move, Statkraft has signed a deal to transfer ownership of Enerfín Colombia to Ecopetrol, Colombia’s national oil company.Based in Bogotá, Enerfín Colombia was established in 2016 and brings with it a team of experienced professionals, a portfolio of eight renewable energy projects under development, and the fully operational Portón del Sol solar plant.

Portón del Sol, a 130-megawatt facility, holds the distinction of being Colombia’s first utility-scale solar power plant. It began operations over a year ago and marks a significant milestone in the country’s transition to clean energy.

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025, pending standard regulatory approvals.

“I am pleased to announce that we have successfully signed the second of the planned divestments of our Enerfín portfolio in countries outside Statkraft’s core markets. The deal confirms that Enerfín has built a skilled team and an attractive portfolio in Colombia. We are looking forward to watching the business grow under new ownership,” said Barbara Flesche, Executive Vice President for Europe.
