Global inverter manufacturer Solis has successfully commissioned a 50kW solar-plus-storage system in the Yangon Region of Myanmar, marking a major milestone in the countryโs commercial clean energy transition. The project demonstrates how advanced hybrid inverter technology can support energy independence and cost optimization in emerging markets.
The installation, spearheaded by Amara Power, centers around Solisโs S6-EH3P50K-H hybrid inverter, delivering high reliability, smart energy control, and scalability for commercial applications.
Project Highlights
- System Size: 50kW solar PV
- Solar Array: 70.8kWp
- Battery Storage: 50kWh Longlast lithium battery
- Inverter: Solis S6-EH3P50K-H hybrid
- Location: Commercial building, Yangon Region
- Key Loads Powered: Lighting, air-conditioning, and critical IT/communication systems
Advanced Features for Commercial ResilienceThe system includes a suite of features tailored to commercial environments:
- <10ms grid-to-off-grid transition for seamless operation during outages
- 20A string current and 2x PV oversizing for enhanced solar harvesting
- Dual backup ports to prioritize essential loads
- 1.6x overload capacity for high-demand equipment
- Integrated diesel generator control for added reliability during extended cloudy periods
Solis also offers parallel operation of up to six unitsโexpandable to tenโmaking the solution easily scalable as future energy needs grow.
โWe are thrilled with the systemโs performance and Solisโs product reliability,โ said a spokesperson from Amara Power, highlighting the seamless integration and operational efficiency of the project.
Optimizing Energy Economics
Beyond backup power, the system is designed for dynamic energy cost management, supporting:
- Electricity price arbitrage
- Virtual Power Plant (VPP) integration
- Energy Management System (EMS) compatibility
This allows batteries to charge during off-peak grid times and discharge during high-tariff periods, enabling businesses to significantly lower their electricity expenses.
A Step Forward for Myanmarโs Solar Adoption
The off-grid commercial installation showcases reduced reliance on diesel generators, improved power reliability, and better energy efficiency. It sets a new benchmark for commercial solar adoption in Myanmar, where energy security and operational cost control remain top priorities for businesses.
This project underscores Solisโs commitment to delivering dependable and scalable solar solutions for businesses in Southeast Asiaโs emerging economies.
