SolarPower Europe has launched a new digital awareness initiative titled Be Part of a Bright Today, aiming to show how solar energy is already shaping daily life across the continent. The campaign highlights the growing role of solar power in Europe and encourages the public to better understand the technology’s benefits in a relatable, conversational way.

Today, solar energy generates enough electricity to power the equivalent of half of all European homes. When combined with energy storage, it is helping reduce household energy bills while supporting farmers, local communities, and both national and regional economies. The campaign focuses on these advantages by using images, videos, and accessible messaging to demonstrate solar’s contribution to energy security, grid stability, responsible land use, and biodiversity protection. The content is designed to feel like everyday conversation, encouraging viewers to learn about solar energy and share the information with others.

SolarPower Europe CEO Walburga Hemetsberger said the initiative is about connecting with people beyond technology discussions. She noted that the energy transition is not solely about installing panels and wind turbines, but also about winning public trust and understanding. Hemetsberger explained that many people remain unfamiliar with how solar and energy storage work, and the campaign aims to show that solar energy is accessible, community-driven, and relevant to everyone.

The campaign is supported by several major industry sponsors, including EDP, Iberdrola, Lightsource bp, RWE, Statkraft, and SMA.

The campaign’s title also appears in six languages, adapted for each audience: Sonnige Aussichten für alle (DE), forma parte de un presente más brillante (ES), accendi le tue giornate (IT), pour un présent radieux (FR), and jaśniejsze dziś zaczyna się od słońca (PL).
