TBEA, a global leader in renewable energy solutions and power transmission technology, marked a major milestone with the inauguration of Karnataka’s first PM-KUSUM project, developed under a landmark 1 GW solar order from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL). The first commissioned solar plant under this initiative was inaugurated on June 11, 2025, by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah in Thondebavi village, Chikkaballapur.

This project falls under the PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) scheme’s Component-C, aimed at solarizing agricultural pump sets and feeders to promote clean and sustainable irrigation for farmers. TBEA’s high-efficiency power conversion and grid integration systems are enabling seamless solar integration across the 1 GW portfolio allocated to MEIL.
Notably, the project is powered by TBEA’s advanced 300 kW String Inverter model, engineered for maximum efficiency, reliability, and adaptability to the challenging rural grid environments.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Karnataka Energy Minister Shri K.J. George, Mr. Sridhar Gadde, CEO of Megha Engineering, and Mr. Sumanth, South India Sales Head at TBEA, who represented the technology partner.

Mr. Sumanth remarked “This installation marks a defining moment in the solarization of agricultural infrastructure. Our 300 kW String Inverter ensures high-performance delivery for projects of this scale. We’re honored to support MEIL and the Government of Karnataka in making sustainable energy a rural reality.”
Mr. Sridhar Gadde, CEO of MEIL, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to accelerating India’s clean energy goals in collaboration with world-class partners like TBEA.
With this landmark inauguration, TBEA reinforces its position as a trusted partner in India’s green energy transition, committed to innovation, reliability, and nationwide renewable deployment.
