Trinasolar, a global leader in smart solar and energy storage solutions, has inaugurated a new Demo Center in collaboration with the Instituto de Energía Solar at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Located on the university’s campus in Madrid, the facility marks an important step forward in the strategic partnership that began earlier this year between Trinasolar and the university. The Demo Center has been established as more than just a showcase of technology—it serves as a practical testing ground for new solar innovations and a collaborative space for research, training, and open innovation. The center reflects the shared commitment of both partners to advancing renewable energy through innovation and knowledge exchange.
At the facility, visitors can explore the real-world performance of Trinasolar’s Vertex N series photovoltaic modules, as well as its full portfolio of solar mounting systems, including the Vanguard 1P and 2P trackers and the FixOrigin fixed-tilt structure. These systems are designed to support the latest solar installations and help improve efficiency and output in a range of settings.
Gonzalo de la Viña, President of Trinasolar Europe, mentioned, “This Demo Center represents a bridge between innovation and collaboration. It allows us to demonstrate the quality and performance of our latest technologies to our European partners while deepening our joint work with one of Europe’s leading solar research institutions.”
From the Instituto de Energía Solar, Ignacio Antón Hernandez, Director at Instituto Solar, stated, “Having access to such advanced technologies on campus opens up great opportunities for our students, researchers and collaborative projects. It’s a living lab, and also a space for connection with the industry.”
The official opening ceremony, held on June 18th, brought together representatives from academia, industry, and the renewable energy community. The event highlighted Trinasolar’s dedication to supporting the global shift to clean energy through local and international partnerships. This Demo Center in Madrid joins a similar facility recently launched by Trinasolar in São Paulo, Brazil, in partnership with Facens University. Together, these initiatives are part of Trinasolar’s growing global network aimed at fostering research, talent development, and innovation in the solar energy sector.
