Datta Power Infra Private Limited (Datta Infra), a fast-growing Indian infrastructure and renewable energy company, has advanced its position in the sector by evolving into a full-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) provider. As part of this progress, the company recently commissioned two ground-mounted solar power plants of 2.52 MW (AC) each adding up to 5.04 MW (AC) in Bhagwa village, located in Rajasthanโ€™s Barmer district. These projects were developed under Component C of the central governmentโ€™s PM-KUSUM scheme, which is focused on enhancing energy access for farmers. An additional 43 MW of solar capacity under the same scheme is scheduled to be commissioned in the coming months.

The Bhagwa solar plants are directly connected to the local State Grid Sub-Station, supplying reliable electricity that powers agricultural water pumps. This helps ensure consistent irrigation, supporting local farming communities and improving agricultural productivity in the region. Datta Infra has also been entrusted with the operation and maintenance of these plants for the next 25 years, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the projects.

This achievement is a key part of Datta Infraโ€™s broader growth strategy, which aims to position the company as a leading EPC player in Indiaโ€™s renewable energy sector. The company has also diversified into emerging areas such as waste management, biogas, and hydro storage. Reflecting its rapid expansion, Datta Infraโ€™s order book has grown to INR 2,800 crore, with a strong compound annual growth rate of 50%.

Mr. Gnanajothi Anandan, Head โ€“ EPC, Datta Infra, said in a statement, โ€œThe Bhagwa Plants are a clear demonstration of our strengths as a dedicated EPC company committed to delivering high-performance renewable energy infrastructure. Under PM-KUSUM, we have another 43 MW AC of solar projects in the pipeline, all of which will be commissioned in the coming months. With 120 MW of wind projects secured from SJVN and SECI and construction set to begin shortly, we are well-positioned to play a central role in Indiaโ€™s clean energy expansion. As an EPC partner of choice, we look forward to executing many more PPAs across both solar and wind segments in line with our groupโ€™s long-term growth strategy.โ€

To meet growing demand, Datta Infra has launched a new EPC companyโ€”Power Sprout Solutions (PSS)โ€”which is tasked with handling a 600 MW order book and is supported by a team of over 200 professionals. PSS will focus on delivering solar, wind, hybrid, and round-the-clock (RTC) energy solutions for both commercial & industrial clients and renewable energy tenders. In 2024, Datta Infra signed an MoU worth INR 1,500 crore with REC to develop 500 MW of renewable energy projects. It also entered into a separate INR 5,000 crore MoU with the Rajasthan government to expand the state’s renewable energy infrastructure.

Both initiatives are moving ahead on schedule. Further strengthening its project portfolio, the company has secured Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with SECI and SJVN for 120 MW of wind projects. Datta Infra continues to support Indiaโ€™s national target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. With active operations in states such as Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, the company is steadily establishing a strong pan-India presence in the renewable energy sector.
