JA Solar secured the supply contract for high-efficiency DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for Croatia’s largest solar power project—the 99MW Korlat Solar PV Plant, currently under construction. Developed by China Northern International Group and Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Corp., Ltd., the project is a milestone in Croatia’s clean energy journey and supports its national goal of generating 88% of electricity from renewables by 2050. Once completed, the plant will be a regional benchmark for solar development across Southeast Europe.
All solar modules used will be JA Solar’s flagship DeepBlue 4.0 Pro, known for superior power output and proven performance under extreme conditions such as salt mist, ammonia exposure, high winds, and snow loads. The plant is expected to generate approximately 165 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually—enough to power 50,000 homes—while offsetting 150,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković emphasized the project’s role in the national energy transition, while Chinese Ambassador Qi Qianjin highlighted its contribution to bilateral cooperation and local economic growth. “We are proud to support this landmark project with our most advanced PV technology,” said Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar. “The Korlat project reflects our commitment to enabling a more sustainable future through innovation and global collaboration.”
