Apraava Energy, one of Indiaโs leading integrated energy solutions providers, has successfully touched the lives of over two million people through its social impact effortsโa goal it set back in 2021. Over the past few years, the company has carried out 232 development projects across more than 560 villages in 12 states, focusing on improving the quality of life in rural and underserved communities.
At the heart of Apraavaโs approach is its Integrated Village Development Model. This model supports rural communities by involving them in participatory planning and creating need-based solutions across sectors like agriculture, health, education, and livelihoods. To implement these efforts, Apraava has collaborated with over 30 non-profit and grassroots organizations, ensuring that the projects are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Apraava has placed special emphasis on supporting women and youth. In the past five years alone, more than 12,000 women have benefited directly from the companyโs programs, while numerous women entrepreneurs have received assistance through initiatives like Aarohan, Project Uday, and Udyogini. For the youth, programs such as the Jai Jawan Raksha Academy and rural STEM education initiatives have aimed at enhancing employability and education.
Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, Managing Director, Apraava Energy, said in a statement, โAt Apraava, our social initiatives go beyond fulfilling a CSR mandate – they reflect our commitment to our core belief in โEnergy in actionโ. Through our efforts, we aim to empower vulnerable and underserved communities by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to improve their quality of life and actively contribute to the nationโs growth. We are deeply grateful to our partners and the communities we serve for their trust, collaboration, and continued support in bringing this vision to life.โ
Dr. Priyesh Modi, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility, Apraava Energy, stated, โThis milestone highlights the impact we can create through shared effort and meaningful community engagement. At Apraava, we focus on real needs, working closely with our partners and local communities to create lasting impact. As we grow, we remain deeply committed to supporting inclusive development and contributing to the nationโs progress.โ
As part of its commitment to climate action, Apraava has planted over 250,000 trees and constructed or restored more than 400 watershed structures, helping to make over 100 villages water-secure. It has also supported more than 12,000 farmers in adopting sustainable practices to manage crop stubble, effectively reducing stubble burning and mitigating around 120,000 tonnes of emissions.
In addition, clean energy solutions like biogas plants are helping make rural kitchens safer and more environmentally friendly. Apraava is also working to bring solar energy to underserved areas. The company has introduced solar-powered streetlights, e-learning centers (e-shalas), and off-grid solar systems, while also training local youth and electricians to manage and maintain these installations. So far, solar energy initiatives have reached 46 villages.
To further improve access to basic services, Apraava has deployed mobile healthcare vans, upgraded Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and provided solar-powered lighting, water heaters, and e-learning systems in remote schools. With continued business growth and an expanding network of partnerships, Apraava plans to build on these efforts and deepen its impact remaining committed to empowerment, sustainability, and inclusive progress.
