Cochin Shipyard Limited has issued a tender inviting bids for the modification of switch boards to facilitate the connection for a 500 kWp solar power plant. This work will be carried out on a turnkey basis and is open to experienced contractors. The tender follows a two-bid system where the technical bid and price bid must be submitted in separate covers. The earnest money deposit (EMD) required for the bid is โน5,650, to be paid through NEFT or RTGS to Cochin Shipyard’s account.
The total project cost (PAC) is estimated at โน2,80,775. Contractors are expected to carry out a site study before submitting the bid. The site visit is scheduled for July 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interested bidders must ensure that they submit their tenders before the deadline, which is August 5, 2025, by 2:00 PM. The tenders will be opened the next day, on August 6, 2025, at 2:30 PM. The timeline for completing the entire work is fixed at 60 days from the date of awarding the contract.
All materials required for the successful completion and commissioning of the switchboard modification work will be under the contractorโs responsibility. No extra cost will be paid for any additional work required at the site, so bidders must carefully assess all site conditions beforehand. This includes ensuring that their bid fully accounts for the complete scope of work.
All clarifications must be made before bid submission. If any of the tender-related dates fall on a public holiday, they will be extended to the next working day. The tender documents include guidelines and eligibility criteria, scope of work, technical specifications, terms and conditions, safety rules, and declarations to be submitted by the bidder. The notice emphasizes that special care should be taken while designing and quoting for the job, as no claims for additional charges will be entertained later. Contractors must accept this condition unconditionally. The Cochin Shipyard Limited, a Government of India enterprise, will oversee the entire bidding and execution process through its U&M Department, MRS Section.
