Huasun Energy, the world’s largest manufacturer of heterojunction (HJT) solar products, has released the industry’s first dedicated publication on vertical photovoltaic (PV) applications. This comprehensive overview highlights the company’s high-efficiency Kunlun series HJT modules and explores the rising commercial viability of vertical solar systems as a scalable and land-efficient solution for clean energy generation.
As vertical PV systems gain traction worldwide, Huasun’s Kunlun series is setting new benchmarks in performance and design. With power output reaching up to 720 W and module efficiency of 23.2%, these HJT modules are optimized for vertical installation, allowing for dual land use. This makes them especially suitable for agricultural areas, transportation infrastructure, and buildings, where maximizing solar energy output without disrupting existing land use is critical. In markets like the European Union, Huasun sees significant potential for vertical PV to unlock terawatt-scale capacity by efficiently utilizing non-traditional installation spaces.
Since 2023, Huasun has led multiple field trials and pilot projects across a variety of regions and climatic conditions to validate the performance of its vertical PV systems. Results consistently show that vertical HJT systems outperform conventional tilted systems in key metrics such as energy yield, internal rate of return (IRR), levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), and land-use efficiency. These findings underline the strong economic and operational case for adopting vertical PV in both developed and emerging solar markets.
