The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is gaining strong momentum in Ambedkar Nagar district, with the administration reporting significant progress under the initiative.
According to officials, solar plants with a combined capacity of 4,416 kW have been installed across 1,389 households in the district. Beneficiaries are already receiving electricity savings under the scheme, which aims to provide free power and promote energy self-reliance.
The programme, led locally by the District Magistrate of Ambedkar Nagar, is witnessing rapid expansion, with efforts underway to extend solar adoption to every village in the district.
Authorities said the scheme is expected to make households energy self-sufficient, while also contributing to Indiaโs broader renewable energy transition.
