Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the renewable arm of the Adani Group, has operationalised a 125-megawatt (MW) solar power project at Khavda in Gujarat, marking another milestone in its rapid capacity expansion drive. The project was commissioned by its step-down subsidiary Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Six Limited on September 1, 2025.
With this addition, AGELโs total operational renewable energy capacity now stands at 15,990.5 MW, strengthening its position as one of the countryโs largest green energy developers. The Khavda region, which is emerging as a hub for large-scale renewable energy projects, continues to play a key role in Adani Greenโs growth strategy.
The newly operationalised project is part of AGELโs broader vision to build one of the worldโs largest integrated renewable energy clusters at Khavda. The company has been consistently adding solar and wind capacity across the country, with Gujarat remaining at the center of its expansion due to favorable policies, resource availability, and strategic location for power evacuation.
Industry observers note that the commissioning underlines AGELโs strong project execution capabilities, even as it continues to deliver on large-scale commitments. The capacity addition aligns with Indiaโs ambitious renewable energy targets, where solar power is expected to contribute a significant share.
Adani Green Energy has already surpassed several key benchmarks in terms of installed capacity and project pipeline, and this latest commissioning brings it closer to the 16-gigawatt mark. The company also continues to emphasize long-term sustainability, grid integration, and reliable supply, as it seeks to contribute meaningfully to Indiaโs clean energy transition.
The operationalisation of the Khavda project highlights AGELโs commitment to accelerating the renewable energy rollout in India and reinforces its role as a pivotal player in shaping the countryโs future energy landscape.
