Waaree Solar Americas announced that its parent company, Waaree Energies Limited—India’s leading energy transition enterprise—has acquired a 64% equity stake in Kotsons Private Limited through a primary capital infusion, making Kotsons a subsidiary of Waaree Energies. The investment will be directed toward expanding Kotsons’ manufacturing capacity to meet rising domestic and international demand for transformers.
Founded in 1979, Kotsons brings more than 40 years of expertise in transformer manufacturing and currently operates with a production capacity of 4,000 MVA. The company produces transformers up to 35 MVA 36kV and holds UL certifications for supply to the USA and Canada. With the new infusion, Kotsons will expand to manufacture and supply 110kV/132kV/220kV transformers in both India and the U.S. Dr. Hitesh Doshi, Chairman & Managing Director, Waaree Group, said: “Transformers are a critical enabler in solar and renewable energy infrastructure, ensuring efficient power distribution and reliable grid integration across international markets. Waaree’s entry into the transformer business through Kotsons is a strategic extension of our vision to provide integrated, end-to-end energy solutions. For our customers in the US and globally, this integration means access to world-class solar modules and internationally certified transformers, delivering trust, reliability and sustainability at scale. For Waaree, it strengthens our vertical integration, enhances global exporting capabilities, and brings us closer to our goal of becoming a leading global integrated energy solutions provider.”
