SUGS Lloyd has secured a significant contract in Gujarat, marking a strategic expansion in one of India’s key growth markets for power infrastructure. The project, aimed at enhancing grid resilience for DGVCL, involves deploying advanced Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) across 7 KV to 13 KV overhead lines. This technology plays a crucial role in reducing outage times and improving operational efficiency, supporting national priorities for a more reliable and robust power grid.
The project will be executed on a turnkey basis, with completion scheduled within two months from mobilization. FPIs will be installed at strategic intervals along the network, enabling real-time fault detection and precise location identification. This approach directly addresses utility challenges by minimizing revenue losses caused by prolonged outages and improving customer satisfaction through more reliable electricity service.
Commenting on the achievement, Santosh Shah, Chairman of SUGS Lloyd, said that the contract represents a strategic win, reinforcing the company’s position as a trusted partner in grid modernization. He emphasized that the project reflects SUGS Lloyd’s capability to deliver high-impact engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions that contribute both to clients’ operational efficiency and the broader modernization of India’s power sector. Shah noted that the contract is the result of the company’s focused strategy to expand its high-margin power distribution portfolio.
Satyakam Basu, CEO of SUGS Lloyd, added that Gujarat serves as a benchmark state for power distribution in India, and strengthening the company’s presence there is a key objective. He highlighted that the project with DGVCL demonstrates SUGS Lloyd’s execution capabilities and engineering expertise in grid automation. Basu also pointed out that the project provides a repeatable model that can be deployed with other utilities across the country as they continue to invest in resilience and smart grid technologies.
