Loom Solar, India’s fastest-growing bootstrapped solar energy solutions provider and a leading solar tech start-up, has announced its strategic expansion into the utility-scale solar sector. The company has successfully commissioned multiple projects across India, including an 8 MW solar power plant in Tamil Nadu, a 5.3 MW plant in Madhya Pradesh, a 1.1 MW plant in Uttarakhand, and a 3.5 MW facility in Rajasthan. These projects demonstrate Loom Solar’s ability to deliver reliable, scalable, and sustainable energy solutions across diverse regions, reinforcing its mission to accelerate India’s renewable energy transformation and support the country’s journey toward energy independence.

As part of this expansion, Loom Solar unveiled a new two-pronged strategy to address the evolving demands of India’s utility-scale market. The strategy focuses on deploying large-scale photovoltaic (PV) arrays while integrating advanced battery energy storage solutions to ensure grid stability. With India’s per capita electricity consumption expected to grow more than 2.5 times from 1,395 kWh in FY2024 to approximately 3,675 kWh by 2047, this approach is aimed at delivering comprehensive solar solutions that combine generation and storage to support a reliable, resilient grid and advance India’s Net Zero mission.

Amod Anand, Co-founder and Director of Loom Solar, highlighted the company’s vision, stating that the future of India’s energy grid depends on the seamless integration of large-scale renewable sources. He emphasized that India’s goals of energy independence and achieving Net Zero by 2070 are not merely aspirational, but foundational to the country’s economic future. Anand added that the company’s approach ensures every unit of energy generated is stable and reliable, by combining high-efficiency solar modules with advanced battery storage systems. “We are not just building solar plants; we are engineering a robust, cleaner, and future-ready energy backbone for India,” he said.

Through this strategy, Loom Solar aims to provide utilities, industries, and communities with forward-looking energy solutions, reaffirming its role as a homegrown clean-tech leader and a driving force in transforming landscapes into sustainable power hubs. The company’s commitment is supported by significant manufacturing capabilities, including a planned 1.2 GW PV module factory and 100 MW capacity for inverters and batteries.
