Bangladesh Clean Energy Week 2025 Highlights Innovation, Leadership, and the Nation’s Renewable Energy Drive

The Bangladesh Clean Energy Week 2025, held at The Westin Dhaka, brought together over 250 policymakers, innovators, and industry pioneers to advance Bangladesh’s clean energy transition and sustainability agenda.

The event commenced with an Introduction of FirstView Group by Mr. Ajaz Shaikh, FirstView Group, setting the stage for a day of forward-thinking dialogue and collaboration. The proceedings began with Opening Remarks by Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), followed by a Welcome Address from Mr. Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director & CEO, Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), emphasizing the nation’s commitment to renewable innovation and energy security.

A Leadership Talk by Mr. Mostafa Al Mahmud, President, Bangladesh Sustainable and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), shed light on the pathways to accelerating clean energy adoption and fostering sustainable growth in Bangladesh’s power landscape.

The day comprised three high-impact panel discussions that brought together leading experts from policy, finance, and industry to explore pathways for accelerating Bangladesh’s renewable energy transformation.

A compelling Keynote Presentation on “Data, Digitalisation & Finance: Building the Backbone of Bangladesh’s Renewable Energy Growth” was delivered by Mr. Md. Selim Reza, System Analyst, Internal Resources Division (IRD), Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh Secretariat, offering insights into the role of digital infrastructure and financial frameworks in enabling sectoral growth.

Adding to the day’s highlights, a Keynote Address was delivered by Guest of Honor Mr. Mohammed Sohel, Director, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), who emphasized the vital role of sustainable energy practices in enhancing Bangladesh’s industrial competitiveness.

Further insights were shared by Special Guest Mr. Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury, Director, Centre for Energy Research, United International University, Dhaka. Both distinguished guests jointly felicitated the award winners in a prestigious ceremony celebrating excellence, innovation, and leadership in Bangladesh’s clean energy sector.
