State-owned power producer NTPC Limited has announced the commencement of commercial operations of a 37.95 MW solar power unit under its 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project in Gujarat. The project is being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC through NTPC Green Energy Limited.

In its regulatory filing, NTPC confirmed that the new capacity became operational on October 19, 2025. This marks the fourth phase of the Khavda project to be brought online. Earlier phases of 142.2 MW, 32.8 MW, and 49.125 MW were declared commercially operational on June 28, June 30, and August 22, respectively.

With this addition, a total of 262.07 MW out of the 300 MW capacity has now been commissioned and is feeding into the grid. This development forms part of the broader 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V Project aimed at boosting renewable energy capacity in the state.

The commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) Group now stands at 7,515.72 MW, and with the latest addition, the total installed capacity has reached 7,553.675 MW.
