Dispatch Energy LLC, a full-service provider of distributed energy solutions, has announced the acquisition of Green Lantern Solar (GLS), an integrated developer, owner, and operator of solar photovoltaic assets. Through this acquisition, Dispatch will take over more than 64 solar and battery storage projects from GLS, totaling 208.9 MWdc across various stages of development and operation. With this addition, Dispatchโs total portfolio grows to 489.5 MW as the company continues its strategy to aggregate distributed generation resources nationwide.
Over the past decade, U.S. solar generation has grown nearly eightfold, reflecting a market shift toward reliable, affordable, and decarbonized energy sources to meet increasing electricity demand. As the industry moves into this new era, well-capitalized and integrated developers capable of delivering distributed energy solutions at scale are becoming increasingly important. This acquisition expands Dispatchโs presence in the distributed generation market across multiple states, including Georgia, Maryland, West Virginia, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Under the acquisition, Dispatch will acquire 100% of Green Lanternโs operations, including both operating and early-stage development assets, as well as Green Lanternโs Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services business. Luke Shullenberger, Founder and CEO of Green Lantern Solar, said the acquisition provides an excellent outcome for GLS shareholders and employees. He acknowledged Dispatch Energyโs execution-focused approach and expressed confidence that the business will continue to grow under Dispatchโs leadership.
Richard Dovere, CEO of Dispatch Energy, emphasized the companyโs commitment to the energy transition and expressed excitement about welcoming Green Lanternโs team, operations, and assets into Dispatchโs portfolio. He highlighted that acquiring a strong, founder-led business like GLS represents an important step in Dispatchโs growth strategy. Founded in 2024, Dispatch Energy raised over $360 million in 2025 to pursue opportunities in distributed generation, positioning itself as a significant player in the rapidly expanding U.S. distributed energy market.
