Greencells Signs EPC Contract With ESB For 63.88 MWp Drombeg Phase 2 Solar Project, Expanding Ireland’s Solar Park To 136.88 MWp

Greencells, one of Europe’s leading EPC service providers for utility-scale solar power plants, has signed a contract with ESB, Ireland’s leading energy provider, for the development of Drombeg Phase 2, a 63.88 MWp solar project. This agreement continues the successful collaboration between the two companies and brings the total capacity of the Drombeg site to 136.88 MWp, establishing it as one of the largest solar parks in Ireland.

ESB, one of Ireland’s largest state-owned utilities, plays a central role in the country’s energy transition and is actively expanding its renewable generation portfolio. The Drombeg Phase 2 project is a significant step forward in ESB’s long-term decarbonization strategy, further strengthening its solar capacity and contributing to Ireland’s renewable energy targets.

Fabian Herr, CEO of Greencells Group, expressed pride in the continued collaboration, stating that being selected again as the Turnkey EPC Contractor by ESB is a testament to Greencells’ ability to deliver complex, multi-phase projects efficiently and to the highest standards. He emphasized that the Drombeg project highlights the strength of the partnership and Greencells’ expertise in managing large-scale solar developments.
