Diageo India has announced strong progress on its sustainability agenda, reporting major advancements across clean energy adoption, climate action, and circularity initiatives as part of its UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-aligned commitments.

The company revealed that it has achieved a 93% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from its operations since 2020. This milestone follows the complete elimination of coal usage in 2022. Today, all Diageo India distilleries operate using biomass-powered boilers, and 99% of the companyโ€™s total energy consumption comes from renewable sources. With an installed 2.7 MW of in-house solar capacity, the company has already surpassed its renewable energy targets for 2030.

Diageo India has strengthened its circularity efforts by achieving zero waste-to-landfill and ensuring 99% recyclable packaging, with a major shift toward recycled materials. The company is also scaling community-led climate action, including mangrove restoration in Puri with 31,500 seedlings and the plantation of over 1 lakh trees nationwide, along with 2 lakh saplings under the TOFR initiative in Rajasthan.
