M K Land Holdings Berhad has announced the award of a RM142.3 million Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning contract to Atlantic Blue Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Solarvest Holdings Berhad. The contract covers the development of a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 29.99 megawatts under the Corporate Green Power Programme. The project will be located in Mukim Padang Meha, in the district of Kulim, Kedah, and represents an important step in advancing renewable energy infrastructure in Malaysia.

The project will be developed through Citra Energies Sdn. Bhd., a consortium formed between Solar Citra Sdn. Bhd. and TotalEnergies Renewables SAS. By bringing together M K Land’s commitment to sustainable growth and Solarvest’s experience in solar project execution, the collaboration is expected to enable smooth planning, construction, and commissioning of the plant. Both organisations view the partnership as part of their mission to support Malaysia’s clean energy transition and increase the adoption of renewable resources across the country.

Chief Operating Officer of M K Land and Director of Citra Energies, Frankie Chai, expressed confidence in the partnership and highlighted the importance of the new solar project. He stated that the initiative strengthens M K Land’s renewable energy portfolio and reflects the benefits of working closely with strategic partners. According to him, the solar plant will contribute to national sustainability objectives and deliver long-term value to stakeholders and future generations.

Solarvest’s Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Davis Chong Chun Shiong, said the company is honoured to be entrusted with the project. He emphasized Solarvest’s track record in successfully delivering large-scale renewable developments and noted that the team is ready to support corporate clients seeking dependable and environmentally responsible energy solutions to meet their decarbonisation targets.

This new contract builds on the existing partnership between M K Land and Solarvest. Solarvest was previously appointed as the EPCC contractor by Solar Citra for its first renewable energy project, a 10.95 MW solar plant developed under the LSS4 scheme in Kerian, Perak. That project achieved commercial operation in 2023. The continuation of collaboration reflects strong confidence in Solarvest’s technical expertise and ability to deliver major solar facilities.
