BTE Secures Grand Prize with GEN100 Fuel Cell Generator as APGREEN, Energyn, and VINSSEN Lead Category Wins in Production, Storage & Distribution, and Utilization at the World Hydrogen Expo 2025.
The World Hydrogen Expo (WHE) 2025 Organizing Committee officially announced the ten final winners of the prestigious H2 Innovation Award on February 4, coinciding with the opening of this yearโs global hydrogen industry exhibition.
Now in its fifth year, the H2 Innovation Award continues to serve as a landmark platform honoring the most advanced, scalable, and market-ready hydrogen solutions worldwide. Hosted by the WHE Committee and co-organized by the Korea Institute of Science & Technology Evaluation and Planning and the Korea Energy Agency, the program evaluates technologies based on innovation, technical excellence, marketability, and growth potential. The award ceremony was held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, featuring top hydrogen innovators, policymakers, and technology leaders driving the global shift toward net-zero energy systems.
Award Highlights
A total of ten companies were awarded across three core hydrogen value chain segmentsโproduction, storage & distribution, and utilization. After a rigorous evaluation, BTE secured the Grand Prize for its groundbreaking Hydrogen Fuel Cell Generator (GEN100).
Top Prizes by Category
- Hydrogen Production: APGREEN โ Distributed Low-Power Hydrogen Production System (APG-Series)
- Hydrogen Storage & Distribution: Energyn โ High-Pressure Bellows Hydrogen Compressor
- Hydrogen Utilization: VINSSEN โ 100kW Marine Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Grand Prize Spotlight: BTEโs GEN100 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Generator
BTEโs 100kW modular GEN100 unit received the highest industry recognition for proving a clean, mobile, and scalable alternative to diesel-based power. Designed for outdoor event sites and construction operations, GEN100 delivers zero-emission electricity while purifying air as it runs.
BTE stated that the award reinforces the generatorโs potential to replace conventional generators in remote or unstable grid regions, positioning hydrogen fuel cells at the forefront of real-world decarbonized power deployment.
Top Technology Spotlights

APGREEN โ APG-Series (Hydrogen Production)
A plug-and-play C-POX catalytic hydrogen production module producing hydrogen from LNG, city gas, or bio-LNG without external water requirements. Integrated with PEM fuel cell conversion, the system delivers power generation with high operational flexibility.

Energyn โ High-Pressure Bellows Hydrogen Compressor (Storage & Distribution)
Energynโs compressor combines piston and diaphragm system advantages while eliminating oil contamination risks. The EPMS mechanism enhances durability and boosts safety for hydrogen refueling infrastructure.

VINSSEN โ 100kW Marine Fuel Cell (Utilization)
VINSSENโs fuel cell system introduces zero-emission maritime propulsion with classification certifications from KR and RINA. Extended 250kW and 2MW systems are under development, targeting commercial deployments by 2026.
