Dilip Buildcon Limited has achieved a major milestone in its infrastructure and renewable energy journey after being declared the successful L-1 bidder for a large solar power project in Madhya Pradesh. The project has been awarded by Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited and involves the development of grid-connected solar photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 1,363.55 MW AC. This win strengthens the companyโs growing presence in Indiaโs renewable energy sector and adds a significant project to its portfolio.
The solar project is part of the feeder solarization component under the central governmentโs PM KUSUM-C scheme, also known as the Surya Mitra Krishi Solarization initiative. The scheme focuses on providing clean and reliable power to agricultural feeders, helping farmers receive stable electricity while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources. Through this project, solar power will be used to support the rural and agricultural power network in Madhya Pradesh.
Under the scope of work, Dilip Buildcon Limited will be responsible for the complete development of the project. This includes design, engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning of the solar power plants. The company will also undertake long-term operation and maintenance of the facilities, ensuring smooth and reliable performance over the years. The execution period for the project has been set at 18 months.
From a financial perspective, the project is expected to significantly boost the companyโs order book. Dilip Buildcon anticipates securing an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction business opportunity worth around Rs. 4,900 crore, excluding GST. Once the plants become operational, the electricity generated will be supplied to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited. The power sale will take place under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with a tenure of 25 years from the commercial operation date.
The project will be implemented through multiple special-purpose vehicles, a structure commonly used for large infrastructure developments. The contract was awarded through a competitive tariff-based bidding process in line with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the regulations of the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.
In line with regulatory requirements, Dilip Buildcon has informed both the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange about this development. The company has also announced the closure of its trading window for designated persons and their relatives, in compliance with insider trading regulations. Overall, this project highlights Dilip Buildconโs increasing role in Indiaโs clean energy transition and its commitment to supporting sustainable infrastructure development.
