Rajesh Power Services has received an intent letter from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for a standalone battery energy storage project with a capacity of 65 MW / 130 MWh. The development marks a significant step for the infrastructure company as it expands into the renewable energy storage sector.
The project, classified as a standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), is expected to enhance Gujarat’s energy infrastructure by providing grid stability, load balancing, and supporting the integration of renewable energy. With 65 MW of power capacity and 130 MWh of energy storage, the facility will be a substantial addition to the state’s power grid, helping manage fluctuations in electricity supply.
Rajesh Power Services, primarily engaged in power-related infrastructure development, highlighted that the intent letter reflects GUVNL’s confidence in the company’s technical expertise and capacity to execute large-scale energy storage projects. The company’s involvement in this initiative signals its strategic expansion into emerging energy technologies in line with India’s accelerating renewable energy adoption.
Battery energy storage systems are increasingly critical in modern power grids, enabling consistent power supply, enhancing grid reliability, and facilitating the transition toward higher renewable energy penetration. This project positions Rajesh Power Services as a key player in Gujarat’s renewable energy and energy storage sector.
