Schneider Electric Shifts Cavite Operations To 100% Renewable Energy Through ACEN RES Partnership

Schneider Electric has shifted all five of its manufacturing facilities in the Cavite Economic Zone to 100% renewable energy, marking a major step toward industrial sustainability in the Philippines. The transition was made possible through a renewable energy supply agreement with ACEN RES, the retail electricity business of the Ayala group, under the government’s Green Energy Option Program. This program allows businesses with high electricity demand to choose renewable energy as their main power source instead of relying on traditional distribution utilities. By joining this program, Schneider Electric is able to directly source clean power and support the rapid expansion of renewable energy in the country.

The shift began in December 2025 and now covers Schneider Electric’s office and production sites in Cavite. These facilities, which are mainly involved in semiconductor manufacturing, now run completely on renewable power. This move is expected to prevent close to 11,600 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, showing how renewable energy can significantly reduce industrial carbon footprints. Schneider Electric said this milestone is a key part of its journey to reach net-zero emissions, and it places the Cavite Smart Factory among the first in Luzon’s economic zones and the first in East Asia within Schneider Electric’s network to be fully powered by clean energy. The company believes this proves the practicality and scalability of renewable energy for complex industrial operations.

ACEN RES, which currently holds the largest market share under the Green Energy Option Program, emphasized that the partnership with Schneider Electric shows how major manufacturers can lead the energy transition by choosing clean power solutions. The company noted that more businesses are beginning to understand that renewable energy is not only good for the environment but also reliable and feasible for daily operations. Through its efforts, ACEN RES continues to support companies nationwide as they move away from fossil fuels.

To recognize Schneider Electric’s full transition to renewable energy, ACEN RES awarded the company its “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge. This seal is given to businesses that operate entirely on clean energy and is already displayed in almost 100 facilities across the Philippines. Schneider Electric said the badge helps communicate its environmental commitment to its stakeholders and reflects its broader global efforts to support climate action. The company’s shift to clean energy strengthens the country’s renewable energy push and highlights how industry can play a central role in reducing emissions and supporting a more sustainable future.
