Boviet Solar, a leading solar energy technology company specializing in high-efficiency monocrystalline PV cells and modules, has outlined its U.S. manufacturing plans, emphasizing a long-term commitment to the domestic solar market. The company operates two major facilities in Greenville, North Carolina, aimed at supporting the rapid growth of utility-scale, commercial, community-solar, and residential projects nationwide.
Phase I: PV Module Manufacturing
The first phase of Boviet Solarโs U.S. operations began with the opening of its PV module manufacturing facility on April 24, 2025. Spanning 521,468 square feet, the fully operational facility represents an investment of approximately $294 million and has an annual production capacity of 3 GW. The plant manufactures the companyโs Gamma Seriesโข Mono-Monofacial and Vega Seriesโข Mono-Bifacial PV modules, catering to utility-scale, community-solar, commercial, industrial, and residential projects across the U.S.
The Phase I facility has already generated over 300 skilled jobs in manufacturing, engineering, and operations, contributing to workforce development and economic growth in eastern North Carolina.
Phase II: PV Cell Manufacturing
Building on the success of Phase I, Boviet Solar initiated construction of its Phase II PV cell manufacturing facility in January 2025. Covering approximately 600,000 square feet, the $100 million facility will produce 3 GW of advanced P-Type and N-Type PV cells annually. The project is expected to be completed in the second half of 2026 and will create more than 900 additional jobs, further strengthening U.S. solar manufacturing capacity and vertical integration.
โOur U.S. manufacturing activities reflect a deliberate, long-term commitment to the American solar market,โ said Songul Atacan, Head of Global Brand & Marketing at Boviet Solar. โWe are investing in real capacity, real jobs, and real infrastructure because we believe in the future of U.S. solar manufacturing and in supporting our customers with dependable, domestic supply.โ
Strategic Impact
Boviet Solarโs U.S. expansion underscores the companyโs strategy of building permanent, scalable operations to serve customers for decades. Domestic production enhances supply-chain reliability, reduces project risk, and supports smoother execution for large, multi-year solar pipelines.
By combining global manufacturing expertise with a permanent U.S. presence, Boviet Solar aims to strengthen bankability, lender confidence, and operational accountability, ensuring consistent quality and long-term support for solar projects nationwide.
As the U.S. solar market continues to expand, Boviet Solarโs Greenville facilities signal the companyโs commitment to domestic manufacturing, high-performance PV solutions, and the creation of American jobs in the renewable energy sector.
