The Government of Ras Al Khaimah has announced that the third edition of the RAK Energy Summit will be held from November 25 to 27, 2026, under the patronage of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Organised by Ras Al Khaimah Municipality in partnership with Etihad Water & Electricity, the three-day summit will take place at the RAK Expo Center. The event is positioned as a regional platform for dialogue and collaboration on priorities shaping the sustainable energy landscape across the UAE and the wider GCC region.
Guided by the theme “Create and Contribute to the Sustainable Energy Goals of the Future,” the summit will convene regional leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and innovators to discuss policies, technologies, and partnerships supporting sustainable energy and climate objectives.
HE Munther Mohammed bin Shekar, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, said the third edition builds on the momentum of previous summits, reinforcing the emirate’s commitment to sustainable energy as a driver of climate action, social well-being, and economic competitiveness. He added that collaboration with Etihad Water & Electricity and other partners would help position the summit as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and partnerships to advance the energy transition locally and regionally.
Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water & Electricity, said the partnership reflects the utility’s role as both a service provider and a delivery partner for Ras Al Khaimah’s sustainable growth. He highlighted ongoing efforts to modernise water and electricity networks, accelerate digital transformation, and strengthen the foundations of a more efficient and resilient energy system across the emirate.
Al Ali added that the RAK Energy Summit offers an important forum to share practical experience—from upgrading critical infrastructure and deploying smart technologies to supporting electric mobility—and to exchange insights on translating sustainability strategies into tangible outcomes aligned with national climate objectives.
The 2026 edition of the summit will feature a comprehensive programme focused on emerging trends in the energy transition and practical pathways toward net-zero goals. Key themes include renewable energy, energy storage, future grids, decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, sustainable buildings and communities, and efficient mobility.
Regional and international experts from both the public and private sectors will lead presentations and panel discussions highlighting pioneering initiatives that support environmental and climate goals. Networking sessions and live demonstrations will complement the discussions, showcasing the UAE and GCC’s sustainable energy and climate action agendas.
Held amid a period of strong economic growth in Ras Al Khaimah, the summit will also spotlight emerging opportunities in the emirate as it strengthens its position as a regional hub for sustainability and innovation. Several of these developments fall under the Ras Al Khaimah Integrated Sustainability Strategy, supported by Reem, the Sustainable Energy Sector of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality.
