Shakti Pumps Secures ₹654 Crore Karnataka PM-KUSUM Solar Pump Order

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has received a significant order from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited to install 16,780 Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems across Karnataka. The project, valued at approximately Rs. 654.03 Crores including GST, marks the company’s first major contract in the state and represents its formal entry into the Southern Indian market. The order comes under the Karnataka Government’s solar agriculture initiative, which aims to improve irrigation infrastructure and promote renewable energy use among farmers.

This win adds to a series of successful bids Shakti Pumps has secured recently in states like Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, and Maharashtra. Collectively, these orders total around Rs. 1,900 Crores, reflecting the growing acceptance of solar pumping technology across the country. Dinesh Patidar, Chairman of Shakti Pumps, said these recurring orders show increasing nationwide trust in the company’s solutions. He emphasized that the company is committed to technological innovation and timely execution to support India’s goals for sustainable agriculture.

Shakti Pumps has a long history in manufacturing, starting as a partnership in 1982 and becoming a public limited company in 1995. The company is unique in India for manufacturing all components of solar pump installations in-house. This includes motors, structures, and specialized electronics like Variable Frequency Drives and inverters. Its main manufacturing facilities are in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, where the company produces up to 500,000 pumps and motors every year.

Recognized as India’s first 5-star rated pump manufacturer, Shakti Pumps exports its products to over 100 countries. Its focus on stainless steel submersible pumps and advanced solar technology has positioned it as a key player in transforming energy use in Indian farming.
