JIVO Energy has completed the installation of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) hybrid systems at 39 health facilities across Liberia, bringing reliable and eco-friendly power to previously off-grid locations.
The project, financed by the World Bank and implemented by the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency, took 18 months to complete. JIVO Energy will provide two years of operations and maintenance services for the systems.
With capacities ranging from 2 kWp/15 kWh to 18 kWp/70 kWh, the installations enable health facilities to achieve self-sufficiency in meeting their electricity demand, reducing reliance on diesel generators.
โThe remoteness of some locations posed logistical challenges,โ the company noted, โbut also amplified the impact by delivering a sustainable and reliable power source to critical healthcare facilities.โ
This initiative supports Liberiaโs ongoing efforts to expand access to renewable energy in off-grid and rural communities.
