NLC India Limited has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited, has secured a major renewable energy project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited. The company shared this update through an official notification issued on February 3, 2026, and submitted it to the stock exchanges to inform investors and stakeholders.
Under this contract, NLC India Renewables Limited will set up a 600 MW power generation project integrated with a large Energy Storage System of 300 MW / 1800 MWh. The project has been awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by SECI. This allocation forms part of a broader project framework of 1200 MW of renewable power capacity supported by 600 MW / 3600 MWh of energy storage.
By accepting the Letter of Award on February 3, 2026, the subsidiary has formally committed to developing and operating the project. The initiative is classified as a domestic power generation and supply project and will play a role in strengthening Indiaโs renewable energy infrastructure.
A key feature of the contract is the Power Purchase Agreement, which will remain in force for 25 years. This long-term agreement will ensure a stable and reliable supply of clean power to the grid for over two decades, supporting Indiaโs energy transition goals.
As per the project timeline, the entire capacity must be made ready for supply within 24 months from the effective date of the Power Purchase Agreement. The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date will mark the point at which power generation begins.
NLC India also clarified that the contract complies with SEBI disclosure requirements. The company confirmed that its promoters and group entities have no interest in SECI and that the transaction does not fall under related party dealings.
This project represents a significant step forward for NLC India Limited, a Navratna public sector enterprise, as it continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio through its renewables-focused subsidiary.
