Vivant Energy, the power generation arm of Cebu-based conglomerate Vivant Corporation, has secured a 15-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) to provide additional and reliable electricity supply to the island province of Siquijor, supporting the regionโs growing energy demand.
The agreement, signed on 30 December 2025, follows a successful Competitive Selection Process (CSP) conducted by the Province of Siquijor Electric Cooperative (PROSIELCO).
Under the contract, Vivant Energyโs subsidiary Isla Dilaab Energy Corporation will operate an 11 MW contracted capacity diesel power plant located in Barangay Bogo, Maria, Siquijor. The facility will supply electricity to the municipalities of Larena, Lazi, Maria, San Juan, Enrique Villanueva, and Siquijor.
PROSIELCO General Manager Glenn Galvan said the partnership marks a significant milestone for the islandโs power infrastructure development.
โWe are excited about this partnership and are hopeful that once the power plant is completed, households and businesses will gain access to stable and dependable electricity,โ Galvan said.
As one of the Philippinesโ emerging tourism destinations, Siquijorโs access to reliable electricity is seen as critical for sustaining economic growth and improving residentsโ quality of life. The province recorded the highest GDP growth in the Negros Island Region in 2024 at 7.9%, with its economy expanding to P13.78 billion from P12.77 billion in 2023.
Vivant Energy Vice President for Off-Grid Solutions Eric Omamalin said the project aligns with the companyโs commitment to supporting underserved areas.
โIt has long been Vivant Energyโs thrust to prioritize communities that remain largely underserved. We believe progress starts where the grid ends. Beyond building a business, we are helping build communities by delivering sustainable energy solutions that improve everyday living,โ Omamalin said.
Vivant Energy said the project underscores its strategy to expand off-grid and island electrification projects, strengthening energy access and supporting inclusive regional development across the Philippines.
