AXIAN Energy has received a grant of around USD 1 million from the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) to support the development and acceleration of its renewable energy projects across Africa. The funding will help the company strengthen its project pipeline and improve early-stage planning for new clean energy initiatives on the continent.

The grant comes at a time when AXIAN Energy is actively expanding its presence in several African markets. During 2025, the company made steady progress on solar power projects in countries such as Benin, Zambia, and Cรดte dโ€™Ivoire. These projects are part of a wider portfolio that also includes developments currently underway in Senegal, Rwanda, and Burkina Faso. To further support its growth in the region, AXIAN Energy has opened a regional office in Kenya, which will focus on managing and supporting projects in East Africa.

The financial support from NORAD will be mainly used for the early development of new renewable energy projects in Zambia, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Sierra Leone. This includes funding for technical studies, environmental assessments, and overall project structuring. These activities are critical in preparing projects that meet international standards and are ready for long-term investment and implementation.

These developments support AXIAN Energyโ€™s long-term goal of reaching 2 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030. The company is focusing mainly on large-scale solar power and hydropower projects that are designed to match local energy needs.

By providing this grant, NORAD has acknowledged AXIAN Energyโ€™s structured approach, strong operational practices, and commitment to environmental and social responsibility, which together contribute to sustainable energy development across Africa.
