Ameren Corporation has announced the election of Timothy S. Rausch to its board of directors, with his appointment taking effect on March 1. Rausch brings decades of experience in nuclear generation and utility leadership, having held senior roles at several major U.S. energy companies. From 2018 to mid-2025, Rausch served as executive vice president and chief nuclear officer of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), one of the largest public power utilities in the United States, supplying electricity to more than 10 million people across the southeastern region.
Before joining TVA, he was senior vice president and chief nuclear officer at Talen Energy Corporation between 2015 and 2018, and prior to that held the same role at PPL Corporation from 2009 to 2015. Earlier in his career, he worked in multiple leadership positions within nuclear operations at both Exelon Nuclear Corporation and FirstEnergy Corporation, gaining broad operational and strategic experience in the sector.
Amerenโs chairman, president, and chief executive officer, Martin J. Lyons, stated that Rauschโs deep expertise in nuclear generation will be a significant asset to the board. He noted that nuclear energy remains a key component of Amerenโs long-term generation strategy, supporting the companyโs goals of providing reliable, resilient, and affordable energy to its customers. Rausch holds an MBA from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Cincinnati, further underscoring his technical and leadership background in the energy industry.
